Can you provide more detail on what you had to do after configuring the guest account login with FBA in order to get workflows to start? What kind of permissions do you give the guest user? Are you able to run SharePoint designer created workflows as the guest user? More insight on this front would be very nice since I am running into issues with workflows and permissions when the user adds a new item to a list.

There's no way to do this with NTLM - as far as I know. Remember the purpose here is to make Sharepoint think a user has logged in so that we may allow workflow actions. Anonymous users under NTLM in Sharepoint fall under "limited rights" and cannot start workflows. It's too bad MS did not fix this for WSS SP1 :(

Hi! Is it supposed to work with native Windows authentication? I'm not using FBA, but I'd like to allow anons browse the public site. There's an issue with 'MySites'. It seems that 'MySites' are simply not designed to work with anonymous users. I allow anonymous browsing everywhere: in 'Central administration -> Authentication Providers' for this zone and in individual site level permissions. This works for every regular site just except 'MySites'. They still require authentication immediately. So I think I need something like 'Defauld Anonymous Account' here to give him access explicitly. Regards, Artem
